A message can carry one attachment and up to 3 buttons, on top of its text. Put them on a template so every campaign and send of it uses them, or pass them with a free-text send.

Media

Files can be up to 20 MB. Upload the file to get a URL, or give any public https URL. Truecaller downloads the file when the message is sent, so the link must stay public. For PDFs and text files, file_name is the name the recipient sees.

Buttons

Labels and URLs can use {{variables}}, filled per contact like the body.

How taps are counted

Every button is tagged per message, so a tap is matched to the person who made it.
  • Link buttons with click tracking on (track_links, on by default in campaigns) open through a short OneXtel redirect, which records the click and its time, then forwards to your URL.
  • Quick replies and link buttons without tracking are counted from the tap events Truecaller reports.
Taps appear in the campaign report per button, and in the click rate and time to click.

How it looks

On the phone, the attachment sits at the top of the message bubble, the text below it, and the buttons as outlined rows inside the bubble. The notification shows the sender, the image if there is one, the first lines of text, and the first button next to Mark all as read.
